Head Coach - Anne WIND
Our wonderful head coach, Anne Wind, has over a decade of experience coaching for BBD, Orchard Lake Country Club, and Forest Hills. She swam and set records at Seaholm High School , as well as the Oakland Live Y’ers, and Indiana University where she was a two-time All-American Honorable Mention, a two-time Academic All-American and the co-captain of a Big Ten Championship team. Anne also participated in the Olympic Trials in the summer of 2000. Currently Anne is an 8th grade math teacher at Derby Middle School, and she is the mom of 18-month-old Dylan, who we hope to see on the pool deck cheering on the swimmers this season! All of the swimmers just love her and we are so very lucky to have her back for her 8th season at Woodside.
This is Payton's 8th season coaching at Woodside. He is the epitome of "Woodside for Life" (W4L) as he swam on the Woodside team from the age 9 through 18. His swim career also includes: Andover High School - captain in 2009, Olivet College , assistant coach at Groves High School, and four seasons of assistant coaching for the Birmingham Blue Dolphins (BBD).
Rhys returns for his second year coaching at Woodside. He currently swims for Grove City College, a Division III school, in Grove City, Penn., where he is majoring in chemistry. Rhys swam for Beachwood Swim Club and is also a former BBD swimmer.
Emma Miller joins the coaching staff this year after swimming for Woodside for nine years. She also swam for Seaholm High School. Emma is a freshman at Michigan State University studying elementary education and is on the MSU club swim team.
Colin also joins the staff this season. He is a Brother Rice graduate and four-year high school State swimmer. Colin is a freshman at Calvin College studying secondary education in math, and a is member of the Calvin Knights swim and dive team.
